Printed in 1940 by Blades, East & Blades Bank Note Engravers in London, this banknote hails from an exceptionally limited series. The two lowest denominations—the 1 and 5 Dollar notes—were only issued in 1940 and are seldom encountered at auction. In fact, the example offered here marks just the third time we have offered this denomination from the 1940?1942 series, following our previous offerings in 2025 and 2023.
