France Armee Catholique et Royale 100 Livres ND (1793) Pick A99 PMG About Uncirculated 53. A truly unique offering, this is the sole example recorded in the PMG Population Report at time of cataloging. While there are small tears and previous mounted comments on the holder, they do not detract from the appeal of this historic note. Issued by the Armée Catholique et Royale (Catholic and Royal Armies), it was produced by the royalist and counter-revolutionary forces during the War in the Vendée in 1793. Rather than being redeemable for silver or gold, these notes represented promises of payment for good supplied to the Royalist army, to be redeemed upon the restoration of peace, as stated on the front.
