Ascension (Donaldsonville), LA- Parish of Ascension $1 Dec. 24, 1861 PMG Choice Fine 15. Although issued on the same date as other denominations, the $1 text indicates different terms. The note was redeemable twelve months after date, earning no interest but was receivable for all dues to the parish in 1862. Other denominations bore 3% interest and were redeemable in parish bonds, with no mention made of being receivable for county dues. PMG indicates that the note has been hinged (previously mounted).
