Astor/ Green Bay, WI (Territory)- Unknown Issuer 25¢ 18__ Krause SC-5 Remainder PMG About Uncirculated 55 EPQ. Astor was a "company town" of sorts that served as the headquarters for John Jacob Astor's American Fur Company. In 1838 it combined with the town of Navarino to create present-day Green Bay. It is unclear whether this is an issue of the American Fur Company or the issue of a heretofore unknown unrelated issuer. The note layout features classic Rawdon, Wright & Hatch vignettes of a farmer plowing flanked by others of a Native American warrior at left and an allegorical woman holding a torch seated by an eagle at right.
