T14 $50 1861 PF-1 Cr. 59 PMG Extremely Fine 40. Secretary Memminger threw Hoyer & Ludwig into the breach in early 1861 as demands for currency overwhelmed the printers that had been originally charged with providing notes. The firm produced lithographed notes in significant quantities; over 469,000 for this note alone.
