T39 $100 1862 PF-13 Cr. 294 PMG About Uncirculated 53. A sharply printed example on white paper with boardwalk margins, this note was issued to the field on November 5, 1862, from Montgomery, AL, by Thaddeus Sanford who served as Depositary in that city as evidenced by a round "postal style" rubberstamp on the back. Two black Tallahassee IP stamps bear witness that interest was paid on January 1, 1864, and 1865 in that state. This suggests that the note probably served as part of a bank's cash reserves or was held as an investment rather than spending time in commerce. PMG mentions a pinhole which has virtually no impact on this note's desirability. HID08101242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
