João V gold 12800 Reis (Dobra) 1731/0-R AU55 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM140, cf. LMB-197, Guimaraes-1731/30-1a. First type, oval shield. Fleur-de-Lis over diagonal edge. A charismatic piece, showing a somewhat crude bust, well-struck and sharp, combined with a fully-engraved shield. An interesting die-clash effect can be appreciated on both sides across the lustrous fields. HID07901242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
