Ferdinand VII 8 Reales 1811 So-JF MS63 NGC, Santiago mint, KM75, Elizondo-68, Cal-1404. Imagined military bust type. Of astounding quality for the type and among the most handsome portrait issues of any Santiago-minted 8 Reales. While we've seen a handful of these in recent years, always highly celebrated regardless of grade, rarely do they enter Mint State levels of preservation. We are pleased to offer an engaging and Choice representative, here imbued with deep cabinet tone that rests upon decidedly crisp obverse and reverse motifs. Only a single piece ranks finer, the Eternal example in MS64, making this conceivably the finest likely to be found at auction anytime soon. Ex. Heritage Auction 3006 (September 2009, Lot 20483) From the Val y Mexia Collection HID07901242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
