Foutah Djalon. Olivier de Sanderval silver Specimen Medallic 5 Francs 1879 UNC Details (Tooled) PCGS, KM-X2 (in Proof), Lec-2 (under Labé; R). Privately struck by the late 19th Century French explorer, Aimé Olivier de Sanderval, as he attempted to establish control over areas of the Fouta Djallon Highlands in modern Guinea, prior to the solidification of a French Protectorate. Twilight hues cloak glossy surfaces, but when in motion reveal straw-gold iridescence that pools in fields. HID07901242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
