The 1916 is the key to the Standing Liberty quarter series, the 1916 is also the first year of issue. Just 52,000 coins were struck and most were not saved. A great low-grade piece that boasts CAC-approval, a critical distinction at this level, as a lot of low-grade pieces were cleaned, mistreated, or altered. Not so, with this piece! Wholly original with golden and sky-blue hues enhancing the appearance. The date is mostly legible, an artifact that is most likely not found on lower-graded examples. This piece also has all of the other attributes that graders look for - the leaf over the L, the hair curl, the shield details, and the cornered dress fold at the lower left. A pleasing piece that is sure to draw garnered attention! Visit www.davidlawrence.com for more information on this coin and 7000+ more coins.
