Territorial Gold from the famous Bechtler minters of North Carolina. Uncirculated examples are rare, and many-more readily available, circulated pieces are marred by past cleanings. Easily identifiable variety -- the 'N' in 'ONE', the largest device and placed directly in the center of the obverse, was engraved backwards. Evidence of its original prooflike appearance glint from the protected areas of this diminutive, spartan gold piece; a dusty chartreuse patina coats the remainder. Destined for a collection of historic private-issue gold. We note a light scratch over the obverse capsule of the slab, though the view of the coin remains unimpeded.
