Territorial Gold from the famous Bechtler minters of North Carolina. Uncirculated examples are rare, and many, more readily available, circulated pieces are marred by past cleanings. Ferric tones, imprinted during production when struck with an oxidized die, are the best diagnostic key to its originality. Evidence of its original prooflike appearance glint from the protected areas of this diminutive, spartan gold piece; a dusty patina with tawny flecks coats the remainder. Destined for a collection of historic private-issue gold. Visit www.davidlawrence.com for more information on this coin and 7000+ more coins.
