Attica, IN- Shawnee Bank $10 July 1, 1854 G8 Wolka 0060-08 PMG Very Fine 30. The Shawnee Bank opened in 1854 and remained in business until 1857 when its owners looted the bank's resources causing its failure. The $10 features a rarely seen vignette depicting Pocahontas Saving John Smith at left and Ceres seated in a large 10 at right with a large gray X in the middle of the note. This note is one of the nicest examples known from this bank and has the feel of an even higher grade note in some respects. It serves as the plate note in the 2018 Wolka Indiana catalog and will make a great addition to any Indiana or Native American themed collection.
