Adolf Fredrik copper "Nicobar" Plate Money 4 Daler Silvermynt 1756 XF (Shipwreck Effect), KM-PM75. 261x245mm. 2267.96gm. 3 nearly complete corner stamps, 2 full and 1 partial date. Accompanied by COA. Salvaged from the "Nicobar" (sunk in 1783 off Cape Whale, South Africa). Ex. Ponterio Auction 109 (October 2000, Lot #1378) The Nicobar shipwreck, a Danish East India Company vessel, sank in 1783 off the coast of South Africa during a voyage from India to Denmark. Discovered centuries later, the wreck revealed a treasure trove of artifacts, including silver coins, personal belongings, and remnants of its cargo: the whimsical Swedish Plate Money.
