Washington City, DC- Washington City Canal Lottery Ticket Lottery No. 12 ND ca. 1796 Extremely Fine; Providence, RI- Providence Great-Bridge Lottery Ticket Class Fourth Oct. 30, 1790 Very Fine. The DC lottery ticket was for "cutting the Canal through the City of Washington, to the Eastern Branch Harbor." This same ticket has a hole at center. The Rhode Island lottery ticket helped to raise funds for the reconstruction (particularly widening the bridge) in downtown Providence that connected Westminster/Weybosset Streets to Market Square.
