A Selection of Five Ohio Bank Drafts and a Certificate of Deposit from Cambridge; Canton (3); and Painesville Various Amounts ca. 1864-1890 Fine-Very Fine or Better. Cambridge, OH- Guernsey National Bank $8.90 Bank Draft Dec. 6, 1890 Very Fine. Hammer-canceled Attractively printed in metallic bronze ink with a vignette of river rafters and a portrait of a young girl wearing a hat; Canton, OH- First National Bank of Canton $70; $387.33 Bank Drafts 1864-65 Fine-Very Fine Stamp/manuscript canceled. Printed by ABNC with vignette of two horse-drawn mower and portrait of bank president Cornelius Aultman, who made his money in farm equipment, most notably the Buckeye mower illustrated on these drafts. Both drafts have adhesive revenue stamps affixed and are stamp / manuscript canceled. there are a trio of isolated spots of ink erosion and a pinhole on the 1864-dated draft while the 1865-dated draft has faint evidence of previous mounting; Canton, OH- First National Bank of Canton $64 Certificate of Deposit Nov. 4, 1865 Fine-Very Fine There are a couple of closed spindle piercings and a rubberstamp cancellation. The CD has vignettes of Aultman's famous Buckeye mower and a small vignette of a farm wagon being loaded. Painesville, OH- First National Bank of Painesville $12.80 Bank Draft June 2, 1874 Very Fine A few pinholes. This bank draft has a vignette titled The Crossing that was famously used by National Bank Note Company on the $1000 "Montgomery" Confederate Treasury Note as well as another of a mother and child.
