1794 H10C V-4, LM-4, R.4, AU58 PCGS. The LM-4 variety has the date set far lower than any other 1794 variety. This AU58 example shows few signs of actual circulation wear and is struck from an earlier die state than often seen for the variety. Faint die clashing exists on both sides, although the diagnostic obverse die crack from star 10 to Liberty's nose, cheek, and ear is either absent or so weak as to be indiscernible. On the reverse, a radial die crack runs horizontally from the upright of D in UNITED to the eagle's wing. There are no adjustment marks or heavy abrasions, with contact limited to a few tiny marks scattered about. Pleasing silver-gray surfaces reveal blue toning within the fields and golden highlights at the borders. Five berries left and seven berries right confirm the V-4, LM-4 variety, which is the most available of the four 1794 die pairs. This coin is housed in a PCGS Generation 3.1 green label holder.
