1838 10C No Drapery, Large Stars, F-109, R.5, MS67 PCGS. The Partial Drapery die clashing below Liberty's arm is a significant 1838 variety earning Guide Book recognition. The obverse die clashing is clear on this Superb Gem coin, although there is no corresponding reverse die clashing visible. Faint peach-gold color at the margins surrounds a central blush of blue toning on both the obverse and the reverse. Star 5 shows recutting and minor flow lines visit the reverse borders. This sharply struck example is sure to rank near the top of the variety and among all 1838 Large Stars dimes as well. PCGS Population (Partial Drapery varieties): 1 in 67, 0 finer (7/26).
