1802 50C O-101, T-1, R.2, VF30 NGC. Tompkins Die Stage 1/2. Just one die pairing was used on the 1802 half dollar. The obverse is nicely toned in hues of gray that transition from ash-gray on the high points to a deeper gray in sheltered areas. Predominately light gray in the reverse center, along with attractive gold, russet and deep blue towards the rim. Firmly struck with well-defined hair detail. Grade-consistent circulation marks and nice overall appeal on this important low-mintage key date Draped Bust, Heraldic Eagle half dollar. From The Van Cleve Family Collection.
