1795 $1 Draped Bust, Off-Center, B-14, BB-51, R.2, XF40 PCGS. CAC. Bowers Die State III. The mintage of 1795 silver dollars was the second lowest of the four-year design's history with 42,738 coins. The Off-Center variety was struck first and Liberty's portrait was too far to the left, which was soon corrected upon the revelation. This pewter-silver colored piece displays alluring satiny surfaces. The strike is pleasing with ample definition throughout the hair, though is somewhat abated by circulation wear along the hair as well as along the eagle's breast feathers. There are some minor marks as well as an abrasion along the eagle's neck, but none are egregious to the appeal. A litany of adjustment marks are readily observed over Liberty's face and more prominently around the rims of this piece. The issue is conditionally scarce at XF40 and is seldom finer alongside a CAC endorsement. CAC: 7 in 40, 12 finer (8/26). From The Silver Spring Collection.
