1796 $1 Small Date, Large Letters, B-4, BB-61, R.3, VF20 PCGS. Bowers Die State III. This late die state is identifiable by lapped leaves under the I and second A of AMERICA. The example displays yellow-steel color and has an appreciable strike. While details have been lost due to wear, distinctive portions of the eagle's feathering and Liberty's hair are still present. Small marks are in the fields, but are nondetrimental to the appeal. From The Round Lake Collection. HID06601242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
