1866 1C Indian Cent, Judd-456, Pollock-530, Snow-PT1b, Low R.7, PR65+ PCGS. CAC. From regular issue plain edge dies, but in copper-nickel instead of bronze. Judd-456 is known on both thick and thin planchets, but the weight of the present lot is unknown. Judd-456 is also found in both proof and business formats, though a majority are proofs. USPatterns.com references closed to 20 examples known, all weights combined. This Gem displays rich fire-red color with steel-blue on the high points and open fields. Scattered minute carbon determines the grade but hardly impacts the visual appeal. PCGS Population: 3 in 65 (1 in 65+), 0 finer (8/26). CAC: 1 in 65, 0 finer (7/26).
