1873 1C-T$1 15-Piece Proof Set, PR63+ to PR66 PCGS. CAC. Each piece in the set is individually holdered, in various generations of holders, with universal CAC green sticker approvals. The set includes: Cent -- Closed 3 -- PR66 Red and Brown. Sharply struck and deeply mirrored, yielding rich plum and copper-red and orange hues. The coin is beautifully preserved and demonstrates well the eye appeal possible within the Red and Brown color category. Two Cent -- Closed 3 -- PR65 Red and Brown. The fields are somewhat more reflective than typical for the Closed 3 proof, and each side displays ample copper-orange and gold hues beneath dusky chestnut toning. Two Cent -- Open 3 -- PR63 Brown. Shield Nickel -- Closed 3 -- PR66 Cameo. Fletcher-2, JD-1, R.2. The 1 in the date is repunched. This high-end Cameo displays brilliant, semireflective fields and sharply struck design elements. Modest contrast pleases both PCGS and CAC. Half Dime PR66. The coin is deeply reflective, though the fields are faintly striated from die polishing beneath a loupe. Lovely sea-green, champagne, and lilac pastel hues adorn each side. The strike is sharp. Dime -- No Arrows, Closed 3 -- PR64 Cameo. F-101, R.3. Modest cameo contrast is reflected in the PCGS grade, while russet-golden toning graces each side and cedes to blue and lavender around the edges. A sharp example with no obtrusive marks. Dime -- Arrows -- PR64. F-102, R.4. Sharp, satiny devices complement brilliant ...
