Continental Currency February 17, 1776 $2/3 PMG Choice Very Fine 35. Part of the third issue of Continental Currency authorized by the Resolution of February 17, 1776, this $2/3 note was intended to facilitate day-to-day commerce in the absence of coins. It depicts the classical Benjamin Franklin devices of the Fugio Mind Your Business sundial on the face and the linked colonial rings on the back. It bears the signature of C. Lewis, a Michael Hillegas appointee. All design elements are clear with a tight right margin on the back. The note is free of repairs and meaningful impairments.
