Georgia 1776 $4 PMG Very Fine 30 Net. Part of a large and complicated emission made during the course of 1776 and 1777, this $4 note has a light blue seal depicting a liberty cap and pole with a caduceus and cornucopia and the motto LIBERTAS CARIOR AURO (Freedom is more precious than gold). The note is well printed with good colors and clear design details as well as dark bold signatures of Lachlan McGillivray, Edward Telfair, George Houstoun, William Ewen, and William O'Bryen. It incorporates the border design which features identical right border elements. As PMG notes, this example has been severed and rejoined with tape and has splits as well as evidence of previous mounting on the back. HID08101242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
