Maryland August 14, 1776 $1/6 PMG Very Fine 25. The Resolve of November 9, 1776, passed during the August 1776 session authorized $535,111 1/9 in bills, with 40,000 $1/6 allocated for issue. Circulating heavily in commerce, Maryland notes from the period, and this series particularly, usually average Fine or lower when encountered today. Of the twelve examples presently recorded in the PMG Population Report, only two out-grade this pleasant evenly circulated note,both Very Fine 30s.
