Massachusetts October 16, 1778 2d PMG Very Fine 25. Part of an emission of £8,000 in legal tender Bills of Credit, the face plate for the twelve lowest denominations was refurbished from a 1776 plate engraved by Paul Revere who also printed the faces of the notes. This design features a codfish in the top face margin and the iconic Pine Tree on the back. The design elements are clear as is the signature of Jonathan Brown.
