New Jersey March 25, 1776 3s PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45. The Act authorizing this issue was originally passed in 1768 but endured years of legislative wrangling between the Crown and colonial lawmakers. With the advent of the Revolutionary War, the colonial legislature considered remaining conditions imposed by the Crown a moot point and finally issued the notes. The design, ironically, features the royal coat of arms on the face paired with the ubiquitous sage leaf nature print on the back. The note is boldly printed on bright paper with excellent colors, and the signatures of Robert Smith, Jonathan Johnston, and John Smyth are dark and clear. PMG mentions that the note was previously mounted as evidenced by minor paper scuffs in each back corner. HID08101242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
