New York August 25, 1774 (Water Works) 1s PCGS Apparent Choice New 63. The City of New York issued a series of four emissions between 1774 and 1776 known as the Water Works notes best known for the odd bonded paper used as well as the vignette of a steam powered water pump. The note has clear design features, good color, and bold signatures of Whitehead Hicks and J. Watts Jr. PCGS mentions a couple of spots of mounting adhesive stains on the top corners of the face.
