New York March 5, 1776 $2/3 PCGS Apparent Extremely Fine 45. The design for this fractional note features the New York City coat of arms on the face and an emblem of an eagle with the motto FORTIS A FORTE (Strength comes from strength). All design elements are clear and darkly inked, with PCGS indicating that the signature and serial number have been redrawn/enhanced. The signature is that of Abraham C.
