New York August 13, 1776 $2 PMG Very Fine 25. Part of an issue of $500,000 emission authorized by the Resolution of August 13, 1776, this $2 note features the coat of arms of New York City on the face and an emblem depicting two storks or similar birds with the motto SALUTARIS SIBI PARENTIBUSQUE. All of the design elements remain clear on this note which has seen circulation, but survived the experience without attracting any repairs or meaningful impairments beyond some short splits and minor stains.
