Gutter Fold Error South Carolina April 10, 1778 5s PMG Uncirculated 62. A phoenix rises from the flames at lower right on this 5s South Carolina Colonial which was signed by J(ohn) Beale and J(ohn) Peronneau. While quite uncommon for the series, a dramatic, as made gutter fold error runs from the bottom of the note past the "F" in "FIVE SHILLINGS".
