Virginia September 1, 1775 20s PMG Very Fine 25. Once officials had exhausted the supply of both small notes and larger Ashby printed notes, a number of James River Bank forms which remained unused from the April 1, 1773, emission were issued under the July 17, 1775, Ordinance. This large piece features a vignette of a sailing vessel at upper left. Due to the thin paper these notes were printed on, many exhibit extensive repairs and other condition problems, but this note has just a small tape repair to a tear at upper center.
