Republic gold Prooflike 100 Kronen 1924 PL63 NGC, Vienna mint, KM2831, Fr-518. Mintage: 2,851. One of the better known non-portrait designs of Austrian sculptor and engraver, Richard Placht, who also produced Patterns for the famed Chinese "Junk" and "Mausoleum" Dollars. This 100 Kronen two-year type remains in high demand among collectors, particularly when found with the quality of Prooflike sheen witnessed here. The majority of certified examples fall below the Choice threshold of PL63 due to excessive surface friction, so this specimen is appreciably better than the norm.
