1892 Medal Christov Colon, World's Columbian Exposition, Eglit-224, Starlust ST-eg-224c, R.4, MS65 Brown NGC. Ex: Steve Starlust Collection (limited edition slab). 27mm, copper. Some examples of this medal have a hanger loop attached at 12 o'clock, but this one is just the medal. The piece is worthy of the Gem grade from NGC, with deeply reflective fields and satiny luster on the high-relief devices. Hints of iridescence appear in the fields when tilted beneath a light, as do a few faint flecks that are largely invisible when the fields are not illuminated. NGC has certified 26 examples without the loop hanger, including eight in this grade and two finer (9/26). From The Starlust Collection of 1893 Columbiana.
